G0 Superconducting Magnet System
Drawings from UIUC
Links on this page will allow you to view or download drawings created
at UIUC (or by UIUC consultants) and associated
with the G0 Superconducting Magnet System. Drawings have been
stored in a number of formats. Drawing files (.dxf and .dwg) are
compatible with Autocad Release 12, 13, 14, or 2000. .dxf files may (or may not) be
compatible with other CAD programs.
For compatability with older systems, where the original drawing files were
provided in Autocad release 13, 14, or 2000 format, .dwg and .dxf files
are also provided in release 12 format. Note that the conversion to
release 12 may have resulted in some loss of information. When in doubt,
use the dwg files in the most recent release.
In many cases, groups of drawings have been archived as a single
file with the Unix utility tar. Those tar archives have been compressed
with Gnu zip.
Your browser may automatically unzip the Gnu-zipped files and then
try to display them on your terminal. While this may work for
some formats for which you have installed helper programs, others
may be displayed as (unreadable) text. In that case, try
downloading the file using FTP from the anonymous FTP site
ftp://ftp.npl.uiuc.edu/pub/G0/drawings/sms/uiuc
(see
README and directories in pub/G0/drawings/sms/uiuc).

A 3-D model of the magnetic verification alignment hardware.
There are actually several model files because the cryostat, probe, and
carriage have been "XREFed" into the main assembly called
magver_assy2.dwg. To view the model: load all four drawing files
into the same directory (doesn't matter what you call it) and open
the main assembly (magver_assy2.dwg).
