G0 Detector Drawings
Links on this page will allow you to view or download drawings associated
with the G0 detector, detector support, and other detector subsystems. Drawings have been
stored in a number of formats. Generally drawing files (.dxf and .dwg) are
compatible with Autocad release 12. .dxf files may (or may not) be
compatible with other CAD programs.
In some cases, groups of drawings have been archived as a single
file with the Unix utility tar. Those tar archives have been compressed
with Gnu zip.
Your browser may automatically unzip the Gnu-zipped files and then
try to display them on your terminal. While this may work for
some formats for which you have installed helper programs, others
may be displayed as (unreadable) text. In that case, try
downloading the file using FTP from the anonymous FTP site
ftp.npl.uiuc.edu (see README and directories in pub/G0/drawings/detectors/).

Suggested mounting of PMT and light pipe
- K. McFarlane, October 31, 1997
-
Schematic layout of baseline concept for detectors arrangement.
Only one scintillator and light pipe is shown. The official
design has two scintillators and four light pipes for each detector.
- K. McFarlane, November 24, 1997
(Gnu-zipped postscript, 150 kb)
-
Schematic layout of prototype detector.
This is the detector which is being built to evaluate methods
and performance.

Archives of the Detector Prototype Support Manufacturing Drawings.
Note that these files are 2D manufacturing drawings, not 3D models.
Also note that they are dimensioned in inches. These drawings were
sent to vendors for fabrication, as of 25-May-1998. The scintillator
and light pipe are added to the assembly drawing for information only.
Neither the taper at the end nor the final bend are shown.
The .dxf files here should be considered the definitive versions. Other
formats (.dwg and .ps) were created by reading the .dxf files using
Autocad Release 12. Because the original .dxf files were NOT produced
with Autocad (perhaps with I-deas?) there may be some differences generated
by the conversion.

An archive of files, including 3-D drawings, of
the TOSCA4.2 detector shapes
-- K. McFarlane, November 5, 1998
Obsolete

A drawing showing the beam line shielding for the
detectors. The thickness of the containment vessel
is not included in any of the dimensions. Note that
this is a DRAFT and may change in the future
- S. Lassiter, February 17, 1999
(Gnu-zipped postscript, 6.7 kb)
-
A drawing describing how the terminating fiber
connector needs to be placed with respect to an
FPD detector pair, in order to properly illuminate
both scintillators. Note that the connector can be
mounted in any orientation with respect to
rotations about the fiber axis. The main thing is
to position the connector at the correct distance.
All the information needed is in this drawing.
